Christians against Poverty (CAP) is an award-winning debt counselling charity with a growing network of centres around the UK. It started in 1996 when founder, John Kirkby gave up a career in consumer finance to help people out of the misery and poverty associated with unmanageable debt.

City Hope is pleased to run the Southwark CAP Centre headed up by Steve Lee.

We are passionate about lifting people out of debt and poverty but we also want to help people budget their money more effectively, so alongside the debt counselling we also run the CAP Lifeskills course.

Thousands of families and individuals have been released from the crushing pressure of debt through the advice, financial education, budgeting and insolvency services that CAP provides.
