Foodbank

Our Foodbank is part of a network of foodbanks across the borough of Southwark hosted by Pecan.

The cost-of-living crisis is having an impact on all of us.

Millions of people live below the poverty line in the UK. Every day people in this nation go hungry for many reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.

Trussell Trust foodbanks provide emergency food and support to those experiencing crisis here in the UK. Rocketing food and fuel prices, static incomes, under-employment and changes to benefits are just some of the reasons why increasing numbers are being referred to foodbanks.

Foodbank provides nutritionally balanced emergency food for local people in need. Our clients are referred by local agencies and organisations such as CAB, schools and doctors’ surgeries.

Food is generously donated in a variety of ways; by church members, supermarkets, businesses and community groups.

For information on how to volunteer, donate, or access Foodbank as a client, please visit the Southwark foodbank page on the Pecan website.

The City Hope Foodbank is open every Wednesday 1.00-3.00pm.

Southwark Foodbank is also open on other days at other venues in the borough. Please call 020 7732 0007 for details of venues and opening times.
