Membership

We invite people to become members of City Hope, not just ‘Sunday attenders’.

The first step is to start coming on Sundays and then to get involved in other ways, like prayer meetings and Connect group.

The nest step is to come to a ‘Getting to Know City Hope’ meeting where there will be plenty of time to ask any questions and hear more about the church. This is where we discuss some of the story of City Hope and explain what it means to formally join the church.
These sessions happen every term.

Baptism

Baptism is an essential element of membership and a hugely important step in the life of every Christian.

At City Hope we believe baptism is for those who have expressed repentance and faith in Christ. We baptise by full immersion.

Serving

It’s good to serve! We encourage people to serve on a team in some area of church life. Being part of a serving team is a good way to get to know people and have some fun, and is an essential part of belonging.

We have safeguarding procedures for all those who would like to volunteer to work with children and youth.

Giving

From Foodbank to toys for the toddler group, most of the work at City Hope is funded by the generosity of church members.

Giving is completely voluntary; we do not teach that people have to ‘tithe’ a certain proportion of their income. Rather we encourage cheerful, and faith-filled giving for every believer.

As a registered charity we can claim gift aid on donations received from UK taxpayers. Gift aid forms are available from the church office or from the Connect zone on a Sunday morning.

If you’d like to attend the next ‘Getting to Know City Hope’ session or find out more about baptism, serving or giving at City Hope, please email us. We’d love to hear from you.
